DIY Coffee Body Scrub

You can’t beat the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Coffee has been proven to have a stimulating effect on the skin as well as the mind and is even used as in ingredient in some skincare products.

I have been creating this natural DIY coffee body scrub since I lived in Cyprus 7 years ago. We actually used it in the luxury spa I managed in our treatments and our guests loved it so much that it was one of our top sellers.

I designed a body scrub bar that was a huge hit. Our guests were able to mix and match ingredients whilst guided by a therapist to create their own unique scrub blend which would be used on them in their spa treatment.

Here is our simple but effect recipe for the ultimate coffee body scrub.

  • Reduces the appearance of cellulite
  • Stimulates blood circulation
  • Removes dry skin
  • Invigorates the senses
  • Gives a smooth appearance to the skin

  • 2 tablespoons organic coffee
  • 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons organic salt or sugar
  • 3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil

I make this scrub fresh each time I use it by simply mixing all of the ingredients together. If you live in a cold country you may need to warm the coconut oil slightly so that it turns into a liquid.

Directions of Use

Apply in the shower or bath as it can become messy. Massage the mixture into the skin in circular movements starting at the feet, moving up the body. It will look very dark but don’t worry it will come off when you rinse it off in the shower. (You may need to use a flannel for this.)

The peppermint mixed with coffee aroma is very uplifting so I recommend this scrub to be used in the morning or early afternoon time before 3pm.

I hope you enjoy it.
